| The Boldini commercial farm started off about three hundred years ago in Mogliano Veneto where it started producing eggs back in 1830. Today Boldini has two large production certres, having developped a new establishment in Nervesa della Battaglia to work alongside of the one in Mogliano. Boldini produces biological eggs by using a closed cycle method. He directly fertilizes and cultivates the fields planted with the cereals he then feeds his free-range chickens. These animals, grown only on natural poultry feed, lay the biological eggs which are commercialized by Boldini. The production is characterized by a total absence of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in the soil and no artificial additives nor colouring matter are used for the preparation of the poultry feed. Thanks to this type of feed, together with a number of studies, it has been possible to reduce the level of saturated and monounsatured fats which are normally found in eggs. Maize-based chicken feed gives the eggs a deep yellow colouring and a delicate but full flavour distinguishes them from the common eggs. Boldini eggs have the same quality as in the old days. |
